This devlog is on self-study 1 of my portfolio.

The tourist attraction in Tasmania I chose to model is the Launceston Cenotaph.  See the photo below.  This tourist attraction can be found at the Royal Park in Launceston and it's a memorial for the fallen soldiers that was enlisted in this city. The names of the soldiers are on the tablets. They also use this place for the Anzac Day service (Monument Australia, n.d.).

Here is the picture of my model. 

First thing I started on was the stairs, which I did by changing the shape from the cylinder to the octagon. Each steps gets higher and smaller as it goes up. The section with the tablets on them is still an octagon shape and tablets are flattened cube to give a similar shape to what is shown in photo 1. Above the tablet I used a cube and shown on photo 1, you can see that I missed some crucial details to the model in photo 2. I have attempted to try to match the details, but I couldn't get it right and it made the model look weird, so I kept it as a cube instead. Above the cube is another cube that has been reshaped to look rectangular and made the top face smaller which gives the long edge a slope. As you look towards the top, you can see the blocks getting smaller which you can kinda see in photo 1. At the very top you can see a wreath on all 4 sides. I used a donut-shaped object and change its size to match. I also added texture though you can't tell except for the lines. In photo 1, you can see the lines which separates each block and which I copied in photo 2 by drawing a line in a darker colour. I textured the whole model in light gray, similar colour to what shown in photo 1.
